Greatest Love Story....6th Finalist
It’s been seven months since we launched our search for the world’s greatest love story, and we’re sad to announce that the entry period for the Sandals Greatest Love Story Video Contest has now come to an end. Yet, we are happy to announce that we have chosen our 6th Finalist, Laura and Mark from Norman, Oklahoma!
Mark and Laura were brought together by their mutual passion for making a difference in the world. They first met while protesting a hold on a Senate bill to end a war in Africa and rescue its child soldiers. They spent eleven nights in the cold until the bill was passed. Soon after developing a serious relationship, Mark was awarded his dream job making documentaries in Africa. For ten months, they emailed and video chatted, and Laura eventually made a trip out to visit. Once Mark’s project abroad was complete, he organized a surprise trip to New York City on July 4th to propose to Laura as fireworks glowed in the distance.
“We really enjoyed making the video and having the chance to share our story, as it reminded us how instrumental it was in the development of our love,” said Laura. “It is really encouraging to know that others will get to share in our story about love changing the world. We eagerly await the final result of the contest and still find it hard to believe that we have a chance to win a Sandals Resort vacation!"
