Fall Wedding Style for Grooms

We like to think of ourselves as the experts on destination wedding trends (we’re pretty sure you agree!) including destination wedding fashion. With the fall season right around the corner we can’t wait another second to announce our fall wedding fashion trends for this season.

Not so fast brides! We’ll get to you in a minute…right now we want to focus on fall destination trends for your man of the hour: the groom!

Fall fashions for destination weddings will always be completely different than regular fall weddings, mainly because it’s still hot and sunny.  For couples who have their heart set on a beach wedding when the leaves are falling at home, we’ve found some styles that will allow you to have both your cake and eat it too! Fall colors with a beach twist… why not?

Autumn Colored Shirts, Tan Colored Suits.

A lovely chocolate, warm burnt orange or spiced ginger hue makes for a handsome autumn groom. Pair those warm shades with an off-white, tan or champagne colored suit and it's like mixing summer and autumn together in a delicious combination. To keep it beach chic, lose the tie and cuff your jacket sleeves.  Autumn in the Caribbean is still sunny with a breeze light enough to make wearing a jacket outdoors comfortable. We think this look is very garden wedding friendly.

Plaids, Ginghams and Stripes.

All stripes are created equal in our books so feel free to mix and match your plaid and ginghams and off set with a solid colored vest to keep it beach casual. If nothing else, your wedding photos will be the most chic in all the land! If you’re a daring groom try a full thin stripped or gingham suit with a solid color shirt.

Make the "fall" for more debonair and stylish trends for men this season!

DIY Tinted Pastel Rainbow Mason Jars

It’s August; summer is hurriedly coming to an end. While that may mean a slew of new fall and winter wedding trends, it also means time to incorporate your favorite summer trends into your wedding is winding down. One of the cutest spring/summer trends for 2012 were decorative mason jars incorporated into your table centerpieces. They’re cute and simple but add a homespun touch, plus they’re excellent flower and candle holders.

What You Need

Mason Jars

1 bottle of Mod Podge in Gloss

1 box of Food coloring

Water

3-4 Ramekins to mix colors in (one for each color). (Use ramekins you don’t mind getting dirty.)

1 bowl (Also use one that you can designate for arts and crafts).

Newspaper or paper bag

Wax paper

Cookie Sheet

Oven

Instructions

Step 1: Mix food coloring with a tablespoon or so of water into individual ramekins. You can do any color combination you like. (Get creative! If you’d like to make pink jars you will only need red food coloring and the Mod Podge because the Mod Podge is white. )

Step 2: Add about two to three tablespoons of Mod Podge into your mason jar.

Step 3: Pour one ramekin of color into the jar and stir mixture together by shaking car. Ensure your color is solid and no traces of Mod Podge are left.

Step 4: With a bowl underneath, carefully twist the jar around coating the whole inside with the Mod Podge and food coloring mixture. Pour the excess out into a bowl.

Step 5: Turn covered Mason jars upside down and set on newspaper or paper bag. Let dry upside down on the paper.Let them dry for about 30 minutes this way

Step 6: After 30-40 minutes Place the jars face down on top of wax paper covered cookie sheet and into an oven that is set on warm. Let dry upside down this way for about 10 minutes and then flip them over and let them dry another 20-30 minutes.

Step 7: You’ll know your jars are ready when, they look clear and the mixture should lose most of its streaks. If there are streaks left, continue to let it dry out in the oven.

When you’re done, you should have a gorgeous set of decorative mason jars for flowers or plants or illuminated with battery operated tea lights for your reception!

Warning: Jars are not safe to drink out of anymore at this point.

Top 10 Love and Wedding Songs for 2011 & 2012 … so far!

Nothing sets the mood at your wedding like the perfect love song. Whether it’s your recessional music or your first dance, the perfect song is a must-have! We love the wedding song classics like “Still the One” by Faith Hill and “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston but what about the new generation of romantic tunes?  We asked around for songs in the past two years that make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside and believe me, we were hard pressed (the trend seems to be writing songs about love LOST. Yes Adele, we mean you!) Never the less we found a few songs that might be worth accompanying you down the aisle. We bet you won’t believe some of the top picks for wedding love songs 2011/12!

Top 10 Love and Wedding Songs for 2011 & 2012

Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not - Thompson Square

I Do - Colbie Caillat

Just a Kiss - Lady Antebellum

Love on Top - Beyoncè

Love You Like a Love Song - Selena Gomez

Marry You - Bruno Mars

Ours - Taylor Swift

Point of it All - Anthony Hamilton

Today was a Fairytale - Taylor Swift

We Found Love - Rhianna

Surprised? We were too! We’re assuming the more upbeat ones make great reception songs or maybe fun first dance songs. What about you? Would any of these modern styled love songs make your list of wedding music? What other new generational love songs would you add to this list? We want to know!
